It’s all about “we” not “me”
It’s not about Gucci, Prada, Dolce and Dior … it’s about you, me, us and we! Together, we are bringing a fun and innovative clothing recycling solution to local communities that benefits charities, the public and the environment — and generates a huge impact.
Start a chapter
Organizing a clothing swap for 200 – 400 people twice a year takes hard work, passion, know-how and dedication. Are you a people person, organized, skilled with online collaborative tools (such as Google Docs) and great at networking? If so, you’d probably make a fantastic Chapter Director! Read on.
To start a chapter of The SWAP Team, you’ll need to be approved as an official Chapter Director. Chapter Directors have access to all of our promotional tools, a dedicated project manager and our network of Chapter Directors across North America. We’ve been doing this since 2007, and will share our expertise with you as a vital team member.
Who can start a chapter?
Almost anyone can apply to start a chapter of The SWAP Team. However, we do have a few small exceptions:
- Under age 18? You will need an adult (such as a parent or other family member) to oversee the chapter.
- Applications made on behalf of controversial, religious, political or extremist organizations will be declined.
- Organizers of other events (such as large public music, fashion or cultural events) can work with us directly as a major partner. Events we currently work with include the Piknic Electronik and Zoofest.
- Companies can purchase the opportunity to be the naming sponsor of our events — see details below.
